Sampford Peverell Society research

This website is for collecting and sharing information about Sampford Peverell and its residents for those working on projects for the society

Sampford Peverell in wartime

The aim of this project was to find out as much as possible about Sampford Peverell during the First World War:  the residents who participated in the war, how it affected those left behind, and life in the village at that time.  This was done in conjunction with the Royal British Legion, and with the help of a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

For more information and a link to a film of our centenary events see the WW1 Info page

We have now started research into the Second World War.

We are collecting information about past businesses in Sampford Peverell, and about the St Boniface's Home for Boys.  Some of the information will be moved here later.
